Here’s something that was in my drafts that I thought I should post just for historical purposes:

This past week went by very quick. It really seems like yesterday that Jonathan was brought into our lives. The kids have really taken to their baby brother and since he’s been home the kids always want to hold him. Of course they’re still their normal selves, always rowdy and getting into trouble constantly, but that’s what kids do.

I’ve been averaging about 5-7 hrs of sleep a night, and I think Kathy’s been about the same, albeit our schedules are a little different. I can usually sleep through out the night, but I’ll watch the kids while she takes her naps throughout the day. I wasn’t looking forward to going back to work and leaving my family behind, I definitely could have stayed home for another 3 months. It was nice to have the time off this past week but I had to go back to the grind today.

Jonathan’s so unbelievably cute, just like his brother and sister, albeit he’s his own person. He has similar traits to his siblings when they were newborns but he’s definitely an individual. I’m so proud of my family, and there have been days when I got very emotional this past week due to how happy I am with how my family turned out thus far.

I’ve not much more to say and it’s almost bed time so I’ll just leave it at that for now.

Goodnight everyone!

UPDATE 2: OK, I’ve gotten an official ‘Yes’ that I can use their music in this film. I asked Marconi Union if I could use their music in my video and they replied to my email indicating they had to ask their publisher first and that I could use their music. I love this sort of music and I think it’s very fitting for these sorts of scenes. Thanks Marconi Union for letting me use your wonderful music. On a related note, I’ve never asked an artist if I could use their music, nor have I ever really used any musicians music in any of my videos accept for one or two of my vids, but that’s it. So I did this as an experiment to see how the process worked, and let me way it worked swimmingly! So without further adieu, here’s the video!!!

UPDATE: I just found out last night that this video I posted on youtube was brought down due to the music content I added to the video. I will repost the video without the music. It’s quite unfortunate too because it was a really nice, fitting song. I’ll have to get to this soon. Please come back often to checkup on the video.

I’m finally posting some footage of little Jonathan. It’s only about 3 minutes or so, but nonetheless I think everyone would appreciate seeing him no matter how long it is. I plan on putting more videos and pictures up of him and the rest of the family as time permits. You’ll see how much his sister wants to meet him and be there for him. The kids are so fascinated with their new baby brother and boy do they love him.

Hope you enjoy!

The kids had their Christmas presentations last Friday, Dec 17th. I was fortunate to attend both of them. Unfortunately, Kathy was not able to make it due to obvious reasons. See the previous post if you’re not sure why. Damian’s show was in the morning around 9:30a during his normal school hours. I was able to leave with the footage, come home really quick to show Kathy on the TV and then go back to pick him up at 10:40a since their school let out at that point. After picking up Damian we went home to get the presents Kathy put together for the kids in Jenna’s class and then we left immediately to go and drop them off. Damian and I walked in as soon as we got there, dropped them off while the kids were singing together and we went back out to the van to wait for Jenna’s school to let out. In the interim Damian and I cleaned the inside of the van’s windows and Damian wiped the window ledges with the duster brush. After cleaning the van we went back in to get Jenna and left for the day.

Jenna’s presentation wasn’t until 6:00pm so we arrived and dropped Jenna off with her teacher then proceeded over to the … Damian and I waited for her to show up and you can see for yourself how she did! Anyway, on to the show. Hope you enjoy.

As you can see she was the loudest one in the group of singers whereas Damian was one of the quietest, but still doing a damn fine job! Man I love my kids! They’re so awesome and I’m so proud of them, even if they do get on my nerves from time to time.

As you can see here, Damian was one of the most quite. I know he enjoyed himself, but as you can see he was looking all around the gym for his dad.

Everyone, I would like to welcome Jonathan Ahn Jin Harms into our world. He came as a sudden and welcome surprise on Monday night. As the story goes, Monday was an average day, for me at least. I worked a full day and then came home to the family. When I got home Kathy informed me that she thought she was having contractions based off of how she felt and what she read on the interwebs. She had a normal appointment Monday and so she decided she wanted to leave a little early so she could talk to the doctor about what she was experiencing. She had made dinner and said we could wait until she got home from her appointment so we could all eat together. Well some time went by, the kids and I were watching T.V. together and all of the sudden I got a call from Kathy saying, “Get to the hospital now, I’m delivering” or something like that. So I started getting all the stuff together Kathy had already prepared like her bag, the baby’s bag, the cameras and what not. I then got some snacks for the kids since we hadn’t eaten dinner yet and just as we were getting ready to leave we heard a knock at the door. The local police officer, who I believe lives in our apartment complex, knocked and mentioned, “your wife is at the hospital and going to deliver.” “Yeah, she just called me, thank so much” I said back to him. Then he turned around and as he started walking off he said, “Congratulations” and I thanked him. The kids and I then grabbed all the stuff and got in the car. I was a little worried because I wasn’t sure where exactly the hospital was. I knew of the general area, but there are a bunch of medical buildings in the area I wasn’t sure which one it was. So I tried calling Kathy, fully expecting not to be able to get through to her. I then looked up “Sierra Vista Hospital” on my phone and it gave me a number. I called and asked where to go and the lady I talked to described the building I was sitting in front of when I called. You see I parked in front of what I believed to be the right place and low and behold it was. So I got the kids and left most of the effects out in the car. We went inside and I asked how to get to the maternity area of the hospital. Once I got to maternity I was greeted by some nurses. I was asked if there was anyone that would be able to come and pick up the kids as they weren’t allowed “in”, where ever “in” was. I believe they were referring to the O.R., which makes sense. The nurses said they could have the kids go in their break room for the moment while they took me to get prepped for seeing Kathy. They brought me to the room Kathy would be staying in and gave me the outfit to get dressed in and then brought me to the O.R. just across the hall from her room. I walked in and there were what looked to be a ton of people working on Kathy. There were at least five people standing around Kathy and three others standing on the periphery. I asked Kathy how she was doing and she said “OK”, but I could tell she was nervous. As the doctors were working on her, Kathy’s face kept going into question mode like what the hell were the doctors doing to her. Not more than a minute later the doctor asked for Kathy to be put to sleep and asked that I leave the O.R.

So I walked back over to her room and stood there for a moment trying to think what I should do about the kids after being told they weren’t allowed “in” and called my buddy Marc. I asked him if he would be able to come and pick the kids up, but as we were talking I let him know that I still had not discussed the terms with the nurses yet so I would do that and let him know. It turns out the kids just couldn’t be around Kathy for about an hour and a half after she was done with surgery. By now you can probably tell that Kathy had a C-section. I asked if I could have the kids stay in Kathy’s room for now and was told yes. So when I went to get the kids, as we were walking out of the break room another nurse came by and said, “here’s the new baby!” The kids were with me so they got to see their baby brother right then and there. I was happy that he was doing well and the kids were mesmerized by him. I let the nurse bring Jonathan to the nursery and I brought the kids to Kathy’s room. We were shortly greeted by another nurse asking if we wanted a try of food they had left over. Since the kids hadn’t eaten yet I said yes and we all at a little from the try. It was pretty typical of what you hear hospital food would be. Some stuff was good and other stuff not so much.

So after we finished up our food, the doctor who delivered Jonathan came in and said that the kids weren’t able to stay in the room. Up to this point I wasn’t told where we could go but the doctor told us there was a waiting room we could go to for about an hour. I asked how Kathy and Jonathan were doing and he said both were doing well. He went on to say that he had to perform a cross cut c-section, meaning vertically and horizontally across Kathy’s abdomen to get the baby out as he was laying across her side ways instead of the normal up and down and it was very difficult to try and maneuver him around so that’s why he had to put Kathy to sleep so that her muscles would relax and make it easier to get Jonathan. The kids and I then went to the waiting room and sat for close to an hour when I received a call from Kathy. She asked where we were and she wanted to see us. The kids and I walked back down to her room and the kids were very happy to see their mom as I was very happy to see my wife. She of course was groggy from the medication but she seemed very coherent.

I will put more up here when I have more written, but for now here are some pictures of the new addition to our happy family!

Here one pic for now. Will post more later.
